This publication examines the connections between anti-Americanism and Islamic terrorist threats to the US since the 11 September 2001 attacks. The authors analyze the threats posed by different Islamist extremist organizations and pay particular attention to the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), an Algerian-based Islamist guerrilla group with the intent of overthrowing the Algerian government and instituting an Islamic state. The publication features a detailed structural analysis and operational examination of GSPC.
