This brief presents how Haiti’s farmers face a turbulent international market marked by stiff competition and slumping prices in the export of coffee. It examines difficult life of Haitian producers together with other producers of developing countries due to fall in coffee world price and the development of coffee exports from Brazil and Vietnam. It further explains how Haitian’s come up with washed coffee, Haitian Blue, with the help of USAID to face the coffee crisis.
