This publication discusses the impact climate change mitigation policies have upon trade and trade policy in three broad categories: regulatory measures, fiscal measures and incentives. The authors discuss energy generation and consumption, and land-use issues along with their relationship to climate change mitigation. After examining competitiveness issues related to trade and climate change, the publication explores tools and instruments for adaptation. The final sections address technological innovation and transfer and investment as solutions to the challenges of climate change.
