This research report scrutinizes the corporate communication of South Africa’s energy provider, Eskom, amidst electricity shortages and supply challenges from 2005 to 2007. Whereas the company’s reaction to the first series of outages in 2005 was entirely reactive and slow, by the time of the 2007 electricity outages Eskom had learned its lessons from the previous communication challenges, and had become significantly more proactive in its communication.
