This paper describes the institutional and legal models that are now being developed concerning bilateral trade agreements between the EU and the US and investigates possible future trends. The author first analyzes the relationship between international trade and labor regulation. He then addresses the main results of multilateral ILO discussions held in 1994 in Geneva as well as other labor conferences.
