This issue of the Canadian Military Journal opens with a survey of the role of Canada in the Global Partnership (GP), a G8 initiative to secure weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and related materials in Russia. Among other issues, it also assesses the application of soft power by the UN peace support operation MONUC in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), examines the development of Canada-Mongolia defense ties from 1996 to 2009, and assesses the tactical and operational value of the 'Three Block War' doctrine.
