This edition of the Journal examines various issues related to China such as the impact of the financial crisis on migrant workers and wider society, recent developments in Chinese foreign policy and democratic developments in Taiwan. Further articles assess why half of Chinese overseas acquisitions do not reach completion, and the identity issues of workers in the service industry.
