This Strategic Defence and Security Review is the first time that a UK government has taken decisions on its defence, security, intelligence, resilience, development and foreign affairs capabilities in the round. It sets out the ways and means to deliver the ends set out in the National Security Strategy. It links judgements on where to direct effort and focus the available resources, to choices on which risks and policies to prioritise. It sets a clear target for the national security capabilities the UK will need
