This publication examines how domestic politics influence South Korea’s foreign policy by looking at the administrations of Park Geun-hye and Moon Jae-in through a neoclassical realist lens. The text's author finds that whereas the Park administration disregarded the dynamics of domestic politics by putting state security above all else, the Moon administration has pursued a détente policy with a deep awareness of domestic politics.
