The articles in this issue examine China's relationship with Africa from a military, security, and trade perspective. The authors assess Chinese and European trade relations with sub-Saharan Africa, the Chinese counter-piracy operation in the Gulf of Aden, and the converging security interests of the EU and China in Africa.
