This book looks at China's first 10 years of membership in the WTO and its implications for China and global trade governance. It begins with an overview of the profound impact of China’s embrace of WTO principles of non-discrimination, transparency and rule of law on the modernization of its economy and society. It then looks at what China’s membership means for the WTO. Subsequently, it discusses China’s trade relations with the US, Africa, least-development countries (LDCs) and Brazil. The final part discusses what comes after the financial crisis.
