This paper discusses the rise of Russia's New Drama Movement. The Movement grew out of many roots from across the enormous length of the newly-formed Russian Federation. Yekaterinburg proved to be one particularly powerful environment for nurturing and disseminating new cultural forms that reflected the disorientation of a society in crisis.
