By reviewing the coverage of the US in 2006, this article highlights that governments and multinational companies have to cope with a growing number of diverse news arenas, which might be a reason for concern regarding their reputation. The widely watched Arab news channels, for example, undermine the image of the US and strengthen opposing forces by generating moral and material support worldwide.
