This book examines the relations between the United States and its transatlantic allies. The chapters by various authors take a fresh look at the most basic elements of the military, economic and political relations against the backdrop of the radical changes that have taken place over recent years. The contributions strive to gain a basic understanding of the interests and values that motivate governments and peoples on the two sides of the North Atlantic and to provide a solid grounding of analysis to help shape policies for the future.
