This policy brief concerns the Accra III peace process which sought to bring an end to the first Ivorian civil war which involved French forces and UN peacekeepers as well as domestic forces. The report spells out the opportunities for peace, highlighting the international involvement in the crisis but also the toll of the war on civilians. The author also presents the challenges and threats to the peace-process focusing on political turmoil and war-profiteering that served to continue the conflict.
