This policy brief highlights the fragility of the Ivorian peace-process and analyzes the results of the two Pretoria meetings between the two parties involved in the Ivorian Civil War. It assesses the degree of compliance by the two actors, analyzes the political intricacies that hinder the effective implementation of the peace agreement, and proposes options for responses to increased hostilities. The authors states that the country remains poised for further outbreaks of violence and there seems no simple solution to the crisis.
