This policy brief examines and suggests further steps in the peace-process of the Ivorian Civil War following up on the conference in Yamoussoukro (Côte d’Ivoire). This is an historical meeting of the five key actors since the outbreak of the conflict on Ivorian soil. It assesses the implementation of recommendations raised at the conference as well as exploring new opportunities and constraints in ending the violence and for the consolidation of the peace process. The authors are hopeful for success in the new context of the conflict, partially because of the unity behind the national team competing in the soccer World Cup in Germany.
