This policy brief analyses the uncertain political situation and deteriorating economic condition of Guinea in 2006 hoping to avoid total collapse in the country. It explores the social, economic and political issues driving the country to the threshold of violence while identifying a window of opportunity in which to take steps against this implosion. The authors identify possible scenarios that Guinea may go through and suggest responses to those scenarios.
