This report focuses on the emergence of a new Russian role in Asia after the collapse of communist power and the dismantling of the Soviet Union. The authors draw together and analyze the research and discussions of scholars and policymakers participating to six conferences on the topic. The result is a comprehensive account of Russia's policy changes post-Cold War, in particular with respect to neighboring countries.
