This brief looks at the situation in Mali following the March 2012 military coup. The authors state that the crisis brings implications for the unity, economic development, and sustainable peace and security for the country. The roles of the neighboring countries such as Algeria, Mauritania, and Niger in this conflict should also be carefully examined.
