This paper focuses on the recording of individual deaths from armed conflict. It contends that such documentation can and should be done more comprehensively. Indeed, since all documentation is valuable and should be performed even during periods of intense conflict, the paper makes suggestions on how to improve the effectiveness of casualty recording worldwide, particularly through the connection of different approaches.
