This policy brief attempts to make predictions of Xi Jinping’s future foreign policy, especially with concern to South Korea. The article discusses the historical implications of Xi’s ascendance to the leadership so as to to learn early where and in what fashion Xi will lead his country in the foreign policy realm. The article attempts to forecast Xi’s position on issues of China’s national interests, ranging from US-China relations, territorial disputes in the China Seas, US-South Korean alliance in the context of containment, North Korea’s possible missile launch of a missile to Trans-Pacific Partnership, China-South Korean Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and China-South Korea-Japan trilateral FTA.
