This paper examines the usefulness of the Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) methodology as a tool in promoting election integrity. The author argues that PVT assists observer groups to provide timely, precise, systematic and representative information about the polls on the same day an election takes place. Thus, when properly and professionally implemented, the PVT helps to reinforce public confidence in the election process, fosters election integrity and contributes to election peace.
