This volume of the International Journal of the Commons (IJC) has a specific aim to increase the understanding of Eastern European Commons and thus to broaden the knowledge of Eastern European Commons. Many resources in the European region are still governed by common user associations or by community institutions in the form of alpine forests, mountain pastures etc.
