By the end of 2011, seven intellectual property offices around the world had implemented programs to fast track "green" patent applications: Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom (UK), and the United States (US). This paper presents empirical analysis of green patent fast-tracking programs and examines whether these programs may help the diffusion of green technologies.
