This brief provides an overview of conflicts in each of the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria and the implications they have for stability in West Africa. It provides three possible scenarios for the future of these conflicts and options for responding to them. It concludes that these security challenges must be approached from different sectors and levels, and involve community members, as the use of force alone will not be able to solve them.
