This issue of the Perspectives on Terrorism explores a range of issues pertaining to the field of terrorism studies. Articles featured range from a discussion on the reasons of al-Qaida’s enduring appeal, to an analysis of the symbiotic relationship between oil and violence in Nigeria, with a particular focus on the Movement for the Emancipation of the People of the Niger Delta (MEND). In addition, this issue includes an article on the kidnapping of two Austrian tourists in southern Tunisia by al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM).
