This study discusses Israel's interest in and building plan for the E1 area. It refutes the claim that the plan would hinder the two-state solution or prevent the linkage between the populations of the Northern and Southern West bank. The author also explains why avoiding building in E1 would affect Israel’s interest and likely to result in Maale Adumim and Jerusalem being severed from each other.
