This article looks at Israel’s natural gas reserves in the Mediterranean and their impact on the country's energy policy and ambitions. The author discusses the likeliness of Israel becoming an energy exporter as its maritime gas fields are developed further. He also discusses possible short-and long-term export destinations in the Middle East and Europe, and explains the challenges of installing and developing operating structures necessary for these export ventures.
