This paper looks at the Arab uprisings and the Lokpal (Anti-Corruption) Movement in India in order to answer a simple question -- if you are trying to democratize and/or stabilize a country, is cooperation preferable to conflict or do they both have potentially positive roles to play? This paper concludes that neither option has absolute precedence over the other when it comes to democratization. In the case of stabilization, however, 'harmonizing' conflict and cooperation together can indeed be helpful.
