This paper investigates Israel’s strategic environment and examines its potential need for more assertive diplomacy. The author describes Israel's relations with its direct neighbors and other Middle East players identifying a number of trends that have emerged following the Arab Spring. He concludes by urging Israel to be more assertive diplomatically and gives specific recommendations on how to do this.
