This report coming out of the National Consultative meeting on land reforms in Liberia demonstrates the enormity of issues relating to land rights in Liberia. The authors highlight that in Liberia land issues have the potential to create conflict, distort the fragile peace and endanger the gains of the last ten years. They stress therefore the crucial importance of the land dispute resolution mechanisms, which need to be constantly reviewed to ensure that they are able to manage tensions and prevent conflict.
