This issue of IJSD examines security issues throughout the developing world with a specific emphasis on the potential role of information communication technology (ICT) in peacebuilding. It looks at the protection of civilians in UN peacekeeping operations, Boko Haram in Nigeria, the reintegration of former combatants, transitional justice in Burundi, the transformative potential of social funds, and the social side effects of tent-distribution practices in post-earthquake Haiti, among other topics.
