This paper assesses whether the relevant international human rights standards regarding the protection of immovable tangible cultural heritage, such as religious buildings, are complied with by Kosovo's legal framework. It also examines the extent to which the central and local level institutions apply these standards and whether they therefore respect, protect and fulfil everyone’s right to access and benefit from cultural heritage in the country.
