This is a transcript of a testimony before the US House of Representatives’ Committee on Foreign Affairs on the pending US-Vietnam Agreement for Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy. In particular, it focuses on 1) the possible future enrichment of uranium or reprocessing of spent fuel by Vietnam; 2) Vietnam’s acceptance of enhanced International Atomic Energy Agency inspections over the country’s nuclear activities; 3) the duration of the US-Vietnam nuclear cooperation agreement; and 4) nuclear regulation in Vietnam.
