This paper evaluates political and democratic stability in Burkina Faso in the run up to the country’s 2015 presidential elections. Among other topics, it examines 1) the historical background of the country’s democratic transition; 2) the political dynamics that could affect constitutional rule in the country and its democratization process; and 3) the potential implications of political turbulence in the country for the elections and the wider region.
