This brief examines the political situation in Liberia ten years after the end of the civil war in the country in 2003 as well as the the actors and factors that have sustained the country’s peace process. The authors also 1) provide a brief overview of the factors that led to the civil war; 2) discuss the security challenges that the country still needs to resolve to consolidate its peace process; and 3) outlines scenarios for the future of the country's peace process.
