This report looks at the actors involved in counterterrorism strategies and operations in the Sahel-Sahara region including the US, NATO and France. It also examines the ways in which these strategies and operations are pursued - including conventional military interventions, the use of special force operations, drones and private military and security companies as well as the training of regional security forces - and how successful they are.
