This fact sheet provides an overview of the IAEA General Conference, one of the main policy making bodies of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the main issues that will be addressed at the 2014 round of the meeting. These include 1) the Arab state sponsored resolution that calls for Israel to join the nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT); 2) the state-level concept in IAEA safeguards, which uses comprehensive information about a state’s nuclear program to guide safeguards implementation, instead of focusing on specific facilities; and 3) the IAEA program and budget.
