This paper provides an overview of trade among the group of 14 WTO members, the G14, which launched negotiations for an Environmental Goods Agreement (EGA) in July 2014 as well as a number of other key economies. In particular, the study focuses on the trade between these countries in the 54 product groups of environmental goods on which APEC members agreed to voluntarily lower import duties to no more than 5 percent in 2012. The author also presents a preliminary analysis of international trade flows and tariffs for these environmental goods and puts forward proposals on measures to bring about transparency in the the EGA negotiations.
