The author of this paper contends that amid the changing landscape in global climate change politics, South Korea must solidify its national stance and make proposals in regards to the post-Kyoto regime. He puts forth five policy recommendations on how Seoul can achieve this: 1) it must become an active leader in climate change politics; 2) it must finds specific areas on which it can actively make proposals to the international community; 3) it must reiterate its commitment to low carbon green growth; 4) it should establish coalitions with others with similar climate policy goals to influence global policy; and 5) it must link environmental, energy and climate change issues to security.
