This paper provides a set of recommendations for South Korea on how it can elevate its middle power diplomacy in the area of development cooperation. The recommendations listed include that the country should 1) use its middle power position to help reconcile conflicting interests between stakeholders involved in setting the post-2015 development agenda; 2) move beyond national interests in promoting universal norms and values to establish itself as a broker in the discussions on the development agenda; 3) make full use of its institutional strength to help advance development cooperation; and 4) continue collaborating with like-minded nations on issues of development cooperation.
