This report documents the findings and the discussions held at the Kennan Institute's conference held in March 2002 on the US assessments of the Soviet and post-Soviet Russian economy. Over a dozen specialists on Soviet and Russian affairs convened and debated the postwar Soviet economic performance, assessed the Russian economic reform programs, and examined the underlying social aspects.
