This paper analyzes survey data to examine South Korea's place in the world in 2014 and how the perspectives of the country's population towards other countries and foreign affairs changed between 2010 and 2014. The author contends that even as the global recognition and positive view of South Korea is growing, the country's image in neighboring countries is getting worse. The author also suggests that the public in South Korea is starting to see the threat posed by North Korea through a more pragmatic lens and less of an ideological one.
