This issue of the Journal of Current Southeast Asian Affairs includes articles on Myanmar's post-2011 political reforms and changing external relations. More specifically, the articles focus on 1) the factors that have led to the reforms and foreign policy adjustments; 2) Myanmar's policy towards China over the last five years; 3) the recent improvement in US-Myanmar relations; 4) the European Union's approach towards the Southeast Asian country; 5) Japanese economic aid to Myanmar and how it could exacerbate deep-rooted social and ethnic conflicts in the country; and 6) the status of bilateral relations between Myanmar and two other states – India and Russia.
