This report summarizes the key findings and recommendations of a conference recently held on the trilateral dialogue between the US, South Korea and Japan on the concept and implementation of extended deterrence. The conference, which occurred in July 2015, specifically focused on the ability of the three countries to sustain and strengthen their mutual deterrence in Northeast Asia, particularly given the new and enduring challenges posed by China, North Korea and others.
