This paper speculates on Moldova’s political future in the wake of President Igor Dodon’s recent electoral victory. As the text’s author sees it, the November 2016 election results 1) confirm oligarch-politician Vlad Plahotniuc’s broad monopolization of power within the Moldovan government, and 2) guarantee that there won’t be positive political change within the country anytime soon.
