This paper provides a political portrait of the Russian right-wing theoretician Aleksandr Dugin. The author explains how Dugin is simultaneously on the fringe and at the center of the Russian nationalist phenomenon. The paper highlights several of Dugin's most important theories and explains how various different intellectual tendencies manifest themselves in his thought, including political theories inspired by traditionalism, Orthodox religious philosophies, Aryanist and occultist theories, geopolitical and Eurasianist conceptions, as well as anti-Americanism.
