This paper analyzes the political dimension of the dispute over access to fresh water resources in the Jordan river basin. Concentrating on the Israeli-Jordanian water regime, the paper assesses what general lessons can be drawn from the example of the Jordan river basin for the future resolution of other water conflicts in the region.
