This paper discusses various forms of terrorism. After outlining different ways of defining terrorism, the author looks specifically at the use of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons by terrorists. After discussing the protection of critical materials and effective intelligence as key elements of counterterrorism, the paper concludes with a depiction of possible future scenarios such as cyberterrorism.
